Q: When will the virtual CVOT Summit 2023 take place?

The virtual CVOT Summit 2023 will take place as a live-streamed and interactive event on 30 November and 01 December 2023.

Q: Can I participate in the virtual CVOT Summit 2023 for free?

We are excited to announce that the participation in this year’s ninth consecutive CVOT Summit will be free of charge for our participants.

Q: In what language will the congress be held?

The congress will be held in English.

Q: Will the scientific sessions be interactive?

Yes, interactive question and answer tools will be available during all live sessions. We welcome all your questions to the speakers, but kindly ask you to write them in English.

Q: I can’t attend the whole congress. Can I still access individual scientific presentations or parts of the congress?

We cordially invite you to attend only parts of the congress if your time is limited. However, we would like to inform you that CME accreditations are only granted for complete daily attendance.

Q: Will sessions be recorded and available after the congress?

Recordings of selected lectures of the 9th Cardiovascular Outcome Trial (CVOT) Summit will be available as e-learning activities on www.diabetes-symposium.org from December 2023.

The registration is currently open and we invite you to register here free of charge.
You are required to register to be able to visit the virtual CVOT Summit 2023.

Q: Who is eligible to register for the virtual CVOT Summit 2023?

Registration is reserved to certified healthcare professionals, healthcare industry representatives and other stakeholders involved in the science, management and prevention of diabetes and cardiorenal diseases.

Q: What are the registration fees for this year's Summit?

The registration as well as the participation in the virtual CVOT Summit 2023 is free of charge.

Q: What are the registration deadlines?

There is no registration deadline.

Technical Recommendations

 

Q: Do I need special technical equipment to follow the virtual CVOT Summit 2023?

  • In addition to the necessary hardware and an up-to-date browser (e.g. Firefox, Chrome, or Safari), speakers and a stable internet connection (min 5 Mbits) are needed to follow the virtual CVOT Summit 2023.
  • We recommend a resolution of FullHD 1920×1080 pixels or higher. Cookie and Pop-Up blocking measures may lead to problems.
  • The virtual CVOT Summit 2023 platform is designed with a responsive interface that is mobile-friendly, but for an optimal experience, we recommend that you access the platform on a desktop computer.

Q: What are your tips for the best virtual experience?

  • To see the full room view zoom out on your web browser.
  • If you can’t hear a presentation ensure the volume on your computer speakers is turned up and that the sound is not muted. Using the button at the bottom left of the video, confirms the volume level.

Q: Can I access the virtual CVOT Summit 2023 simultaneously on multiple devices?

Access to the virtual CVOT Summit 2023 is provided for named individuals with a registered account. Connecting simultaneously with multiple devices is not permitted.

 

Scientific Programme and Abstract Submission

 

Q: When will the scientific programme be available?

Q: I wish to submit an abstract for the CVOT Summit 2023? How can I do that?

Unfortunately, the abstract submission is already closed.

Q: When will I know if my abstract has been accepted?

Notice of acceptance (poster or oral presentation) or rejection will be sent to the authors by e-mail approximately six weeks prior to the CVOT Summit.

Q: Can I revise my abstract after it has been submitted?

Abstract submissions should be considered final. However, in exceptional cases, a revision may be possible.

Q: My abstract has been accepted. What happens next?

If your abstract has been accepted, you will be contacted by the organizers. From all accepted abstracts, some will be selected by the Executive Committee to present their data in a short virtual presentation during the Summit. The authors of all other accepted abstracts will be asked to provide an e-Poster, which will be made available for the Summit’s audience in the virtual library. In addition, the best three posters of all abstract contributions will be awarded.

Q: Will my abstract be published?

All accepted abstracts presented at the virtual CVOT Summit 2023 will be published in the Journal “Diabetes, Metabolism and the Heart”.

 

CME Credits

 

Q: Will the virtual CVOT Summit 2023 be accredited?

The Virtual CVOT Summit 2023, Munich, Germany 30/11/2023 – 01/12/2023, has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 10.5 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Q: How many CME credits can I receive?

For a two-day attendance 10.5 European CME credits (ECMEC®s) can be received.

Q: How can I claim my certificate of attendance?

The certificate of attendance with the appropriate hours of credit will be made available during the event. Certificates will be available for download after the mandatory completion of the congress evaluation survey.

Q: I practice in the United States of America: how can I claim credits?

Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Information on the process to convert EACCME® credit to AMA credit can be found here.

Q: I practice in Canada: Can I claim credits?

Live educational activities, occurring outside of Canada, recognised by the UEMS-EACCME® for ECMEC®s are deemed to be Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
